European Accident Statement Now Available in Diia app
From now on, drivers can file a European Accident Statement (Europrotocol) for minor road accidents directly via the Diia app.
This was announced by Ukraine’s Minister of Internal Affairs, Ivan Vyhivskyi.
According to the minister, online filing of a Europrotocol is available only in cases involving two vehicles, provided that no one has been killed or injured and both drivers have valid compulsory motor third-party liability insurance policies.
To file a European Accident Statement (Europrotocol) in the Diia app, follow these steps:
Update the Diia app to the latest version.
Open the app and go to the Services section.
Select For Drivers and choose the Europrotocol service.
Check all the details. Information about the drivers, vehicles, and insurance policies will be retrieved automatically from government registries.
Enter the details of the road accident.
Upload photos of the damaged vehicles taken at the accident scene.
Obtain the other driver's consent and signature via a QR code or a notification in the Diia app.
Sign the document using Diia.Signature and submit it.
Before filing a European Accident Statement (Europrotocol), Ukrainian drivers are advised to make sure that:
Only two vehicles are involved in the road accident.
No one has been injured as a result of the accident.
Neither driver is under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Both drivers have valid compulsory motor third-party liability insurance (MTPL) policies.
Both drivers agree on the circumstances of the accident.
Drivers can complete a European Accident Statement (Europrotocol) if they both have the following documents available and verified in the Diia app:
- A verified Taxpayer Registration Number (RNOKPP);
- A digital identity document — a Ukrainian ID card, international passport, or residence permit;
- A driver's licence;
- A vehicle registration certificate — as the vehicle owner or an authorised user;
- A valid Motor Third-Party Liability Insurance (MTPL) policy for the vehicle involved in the road traffic accident.
